This voluntary program offers home visits to new and expectant parents in Carver and Dakota counties. The Healthy Family home visitor provides support, ideas, and information that will help parents create a safe and caring home for their child. Home visits begin on a weekly basis until approximately the child’s first birthday, then occur less often as the child grows. Visits can continue up to the child’s fourth birthday.
Am I eligible?
Healthy Families is offered to families who are impacted by significant stressors such a financial, relationship, mental health concerns, and/or chemical health concerns.
Eligible parents must be first-time parents of an expected child or a child up to three months of age at the time of referral. Participation is NOT based on income and is limited to residents of Carver and Dakota counties.
